A city-centre block, once given over to parking, is reopened as a permeable art complex. Public shortcuts, courts and platforms pull movement through the site while exhibition, conference and media spaces gather around the new public realm.

Three cubic volumes are stacked and rotated against one another, the shifting shell carving out entrances, canopies and terraces. Persian-garden geometry and golden proportions set the landscape and the placement of the pool.

Süsel's only school, built in 1969 and last renovated in 1991, no longer meets how teaching works today. The proposal keeps the existing fabric and reworks circulation, daylight and façade to carry the school forward.

A 240 m² lot in a part-built subdivision takes a three-storey house of 360 m². The first floor is set back so the space beneath the console works as garage and threshold, with stair and lift rising from that hall.

A weekend house for two families in the mild, humid north of Iran. Indigenous form and local building rules are reconciled into layered open, semi-open and enclosed space, using cross ventilation, deep roof eaves, passive solar gain and thermal mass.

The plots were fixed before the design began. Gabled roofs, semi-open courts and elongated volumes drawn from rural building answer a harsh cold climate, turning predetermined parcels into seasonal houses that still fit their block.

A renovation of an old masonry building in a village on Qeshm — stone load-bearing walls and timber beams, whitewashed to a quiet Mediterranean accent. The work began with a site visit and a reading of the existing fabric in a hot, humid climate.

Controlled-cost housing taken as a chance to do more with less. One lot opens a wide balcony to the Tagus, the other a generous green patio behind, with durable low-maintenance construction carrying the economic argument.

A climate-responsive school for Denver built around a protected central courtyard and a tall glazed main corridor, studied against an academic LEED checklist covering site and transport, open space, rainwater, monthly device energy, interior lighting, daylight, envelope U-values and acoustics.

A south-facing open-plan office with a 95% window-to-wall ratio gains daylight and view but pays in cooling load and glare. The thesis asks how external Venetian blinds should be driven to balance the two, testing passive, scheduled, rule-based and DGP-aware controllers against sDA300/50% ≥ 75% and fDGPt ≤ 5%.

A seven-gene, three-objective run of 20 individuals over 80 generations first mapped a controller space of 2.8×10¹⁵ combinations. The final five-gene, two-objective formulation ran 30 individuals over 60 generations; all 43 Pareto-optimal solutions came from the penetration-depth-plus-DGP family.

Three floor-area ratios were modelled in DesignBuilder and compared on zone sensible heating, total cooling and general lighting, with FAR 1 proving most optimal. Buildings sit centred in 50×50 plots so light and green space reach all four sides.

A historic context caught between a rich past and an uncertain future for housing several generations. Surveying neighbouring public space revealed shared intersectional courtyards, so sunken gardens, roof gardens and patios were carried into the proposal.

Validation of the peer-reviewed whole-building LCA of the built NEST UMAR circular-housing unit, reconstructing its material-passport and circularity logic and mapping the published performance to a 2026 Swiss KBOB/SIA reassessment workflow, while documenting the public-data limits that prevent a defensible absolute carbon recalculation.

Design-stage LCA and LCC of a timber-led art gallery in Oulu using Finnish national construction-emissions data and verified product EPDs: A1-A3 hotspots, separated architectural and procurement decarbonisation effects, Monte Carlo uncertainty, budgetary life cycle cost and Finnish climate-declaration readiness with explicit claim controls.

A century-old courtyard house of handmade clay brick, stone and timber, modelled in Revit and assessed twice in One Click LCA: once as built, once with the same geometry rebuilt in concrete block, ready-mix concrete and steel. Over sixty years the vernacular house emits 963 t CO2e against 1,372, and costs 123,964 dollars against 268,609. The difference is not the shape of the building. It is what the building is made of.

A refuge in a very small abode, far from the city, where reconciliation with nature is the point. The Lookout draws its logic from the branching of the tree and the spatial quality of the ruins beside it, structure following trunk and branch.

Furniture designed for convenience, modularity and variation. The bookcase is set out as a geometric module so size and shape can adapt, and the modules are built with simple carpentry joints — dado, dowel, groove and lap.
